The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and U.S. Occupational Safety And Health Administration (OSHA) both require asbestosspecific training for work involving asbestos. The OSHA rule apply to all construction work and use a very broad definition of construction. The EPA rule is based on the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act. (AHERA) Title II of the Toxics Substances Control Act Accreditation Program for states. This term includes residential apartment buildings with more than 10 units in the building. EPA also has an Asbestos National Emission Standard for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) that imposes additional requirements. The NESHAP applies to buildings including residential apartments building with more than four units. Some State – Apply the MAP training requirements to all building cover by the NESHAP.
